While this year’s conference will be full of insightful presentations that share best practices and advice from across the country, there are five sessions that we don’t think you should miss!

  1. Can We Talk? A Dialogue Between Faculty and Administrators

Monday, April 30th, 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

What do faculty and administrators wish they knew about each other? Institutional success depends on partnering, yet too often these two groups do not communicate effectively. A panel of two senior administrators and two senior faculty from Austin Community College will talk about how we can communicate effectively with each other.

  1. Less is More: Putting Key Performance Indicators to Work

Sunday, April 29th, 4:15 – 5:15 p.m.

Trying to improve in all areas at the same time can be overwhelming and ineffective. A clear focus on clear objectives with clear targets on a few major areas is essential. Learn how and why Lone Star College incentivized only eight key performance indicators to ensure student success and completion.

  1. Our Middle Name is Community!

Sunday, April 29th, 3:30 – 3:45 p.m.

How can community college leaders at all levels create institutional cultures that foster community engagement given the unique factors at the institution? How does this result in the renewal of our missions? This Express Talk shows how Bristol Community College did just that.

  1. How to Text All Your Students (Without Losing Your Mind!)

Saturday, April 28th, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

The Community College of Vermont (CCV) has launched a new initiative – two-way, personalized text messaging – to support students throughout their entire time in college and keep them on track to graduate. In this session, CCV will discuss the challenges, strategies, and successes of its interdepartmental text messaging initiative.

  1. How Broward College Used Digital Tools to Re-vamp Onboarding

Sunday, April 29th, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Most prospects explore education opportunities with hopes and dreams already in mind during the exploration phase. This session explores how Broward College is helping prospective students are using digital assets to capture leads and communicate.

And as a bonus, the exhibit hall will be open April 29th – 30th. You can visit more than 75 vendors committed to your students’ success. This year’s vendors represent services in academic and student affairs, marketing, workforce and economic development, and much more.
